First there was this bare little Christmas tree:

Then...KA BANG!

This year Rich made me pinky swear that he could decorate the front of the house for Christmas. Normally I do it. I try to create a neat and organized, nice little display. Not sure what Rich might do, I double pinky sweared him not to make our house look like the redneck house down the street where they have a 1/2 dozen blow up things in their yard. He loves it. I, on the other hand......well, next year it's my turn again. :)

Here's Rich's Christmas light tree. He used the trunk of our tree out front, somehow attached the lights to the tree and the ground. The star on the tree is just a wadded up glob of lights. It's artistic, yet hideous.

As you can see, he strung lights up over the bushes on the left side of the window and ignored the bushes on the right side of the window. What? They don't deserve lights?

To top it all off, the lights are on some kind of psychedelic, LSD, seizure - esque flashing rotation. He starts out slow and gradually builds to a frantic flash pace. If you stare too long, you just might go blind.

Sorta like Cirque du Soliel....This is incredible! And to make it more awesome, none of these performers can hear. They are totally deaf. Wow!

Operation Gift Cards for Grammy is in Full Effect!!
This year I thought it might be nice to get Grammy gift cards for places to eat. I know she eats KFC on Sundays a lot or sometimes she wants Wendy's. Maybe this year we could give her a mix of Kroger's gift certificates and places to eat. Anything we do she will appreciate. What do you think?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO RICHIE!! THE BIG 5-4!
Here's a couple of pictures of Rich by the boat he wants

Thursday, November 09, 2006

Today we ventured out of the house and ran across the boat races. We had seen a bunch of speed boats in hotel parking lots and knew there was some kind of championship going on this week. We just weren't sure where to find them in the water.

We were standing in the Walmart parking lot and could hear the sound of their engines. We sped over to the beach and caught the end of one of the races.

The helicopters were following the boats through the course. It was scary how low they got at times!

Here are some of the pictures I got.

Today was another relaxer. We started our day at the Donut Hole. YUM!!!! Chocolate & Coconut doughnut. I died and went to donut heaven. Shoot! I shoulda taken a picture of the little delights. Oh well they didn't last long anyway!

Here's a picture of our view looking West toward Destin:

Here's our view to the East toward Panama City

And tonight's sunset

Tuesday, November 07, 2006

Well it turned out to be a sunny day anyway! We hung out on the balcony and soaked up the sun.

Here's what the living room looks like

The view from our dining room

And the sun set.....

It's Tuesday morning (I think, I'm not really keeping track of the days or hours). We woke up to gloomy skies, as predicted. We don't care! We're on vacation so who cares what the weather is!

The gulf is rough again today, lots of wind creating some great waves to hear and watch.

Here are some shots from this morning. The surfer dudes were out hangin' 10 early today!

We're Here! Back in Destin for our fall vacation. We came down on Saturday, spent the night in Montgomery AL on Sat night. Drove on down to Destin on Sunday. We didn't get our condo until Monday so we had to stay in a hotel last night. It was decent, a Ramada Inn with a GLIMPSE of the Gulf.

We got in the condo this afternoon. It was nice here, 75 degrees but windy as heck. Also just a hint of the sun from time to time. The gulf was super rough. There were some surfer guys out trying to catch a wave. We watched them from our balcony.

Here are some of today's pictures:

We're having a great time! They are predicting thunderstorms tomorrow. I hope I get to see a good thunderstorm roll in over the water. Some lightning strikes into the ocean would make for some great pictures. I'll keep my fingers crossed and keep you posted!

More later.....

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Halloween is a lot of fun around here. We decorate the outside of the house with scary goblins and ghouls. This year Rich took it to a new level. We bought a big picture for our garage door. Here's a picture of it.
Kellie and Brian came trick or treating. Brian was a monster in a cape and Kellie was a medical assistant (she came dressed in her scrubs from school). It was fun. We got some cute little trick or treaters and the usual round of creepy characters.
Rich and I heckled the Green Bay Packer trick or treater - he was probably 15. I told him we are BEARS fans and the Packers don't get no candy at our house! I think he believed me for a second. It was fun talking to all the kids.
How did you guys spend Halloween?

The sunrise the other morning was beautiful.

It sure brought the color in our trees and fire bushes to life.

Here they are:

Went out to Bo's yesterday, he wasn't there....but the dogs were happy to see us. Especially my good ol Tugger boy. He sat when I told him to and waited patiently for me to give him some love. I love that ol boy Tuggers. He's a big black lab looking dog. He's sturdy as he can be and a sweetheart of a pup. Guess I better take a picture of him sometime.

Anyway, it was a pretty fall day so I snapped a few pictures. Here they are.

I call this one "Nesting Among Berries" - but they are actually crabapples I think.

And, "Ready for Harvest"

I discovered the digital zoom on my camera! I knew my camera was supposed to have a better zoom but far be it from me to read the instruction manual. So the other night, the moon was so pretty, I had to get a pic. Messing around with all the features of the camera, I finally found my digital zoom.

Here's the pic I got.

Oprah for President!!!

Have you heard about the joke that's turned somewhat serious? Some guy started a website saying Oprah should run for President. Well, of course, Oprah's loyal following jumped all over that bandwagon! Now, they think she should actually run!

Check out the official If Oprah Was President Theme Song. Oh it's a beauty! You'll be amazed by the talent, you may even shed a tear or two at the thought provoking lyrics!

Sorry Jenny, I know it's been a boring blog month for everyone. I still visit our family sites but there hasn't been much activity lately. Like I said before, I'm blog bored!

Mom and Dad have finally decided to keep Chancy and put a fence around the back yard. Chancy has never been off a leash - the people who had her before just put on out on a leash hooked to a clothes line. So she has no idea what it's like to be free. With a fence she will be able to run and play and have a great time.

So my baby sister gets to stay!!!! Yea!!!!!!!!!!!

Lands End has declared it the year of the cardigan!

Hallelujah!!!!

Finally someone has recognized the cardigan for what it's worth. Now if I could only get someone to declare it the year of the turtleneck, I'd be in heaven!!!

I have a new sister!! Her name is Chancy and she's got blonde hair. She's cute and only 5 years old. Mom and dad adopted her today and so far she loves them as much as they love her. Here are a few of her pictures!
