Flossing. For the love of our gums, we all have to do it. But let's face it, it's not really all that much fun. Floss is just floss. Sure they make that mint flavored floss but does it inspire you to floss religiously? I doubt it.
I have the cure! Bacon flavored dental floss! Now this is a floss I could get into!

Not a fan of salt-cured meats? Ok, I've got one for ya! How about cupcake frosting floss? What's better than flossing with something that tastes like pure sugar?
Careful, my fine flossing friends, you just might become a flossaholic!

Are you happy? Do you live a contented, carefree life? How boring! What you lack are contrasts. You clearly need problems to solve.
Good news! Now you can ORDER A PROBLEM!

In my never-ending quest to fill Rich's stomach and keep the kid happy, I was looking around at different breakfast recipes. By far, Rich's favorite meal is a good hearty breakfast. He really loves biscuits and gravy but I'm not a big fan. So I'm always looking for something that we can both enjoy AND that will fill his tummy.
Check this breakfast tart out. I haven't tried it yet! I think tomorrow night just might be one of those breakfast for supper kind of nights!!

Bacon and Egg Breakfast Tart
From Williams-Sonoma
From Williams-Sonoma
Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry dough
1 egg, lightly beaten with 1 tsp. water
3 oz. crème fraîche
2 oz. shredded Gruyère cheese (I'll have to use mozzarella because we all know Rich doesn't like cheese - big, ol weirdo!)
Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
8 bacon slices, cooked until crisp
3 eggs
10 fresh chives, cut on the bias into 1/2-inch lengths
Directions
- Thaw the puff pastry dough according to the package instructions.
- Preheat an oven to 425°F. Lightly grease a baking sheet.
- On lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to 1/4-inch thickness and cut into a 10-by-8-inch rectangle. Place the pastry on the prepared baking sheet. Using a paring knife, score a border 1/2 inch in from the edge of the pastry. Using a fork, prick the center of the pastry. Brush the border with the egg wash and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
- In a small bowl, stir together the crème fraîche and cheese, and season with salt and pepper.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven and place it on a level heatproof surface. Using a fork, prick any large air pockets in the pastry. Crack the eggs onto the tart, spacing them 2 inches apart. Bake until the egg whites are set and the yolks are still soft, 7 to 10 minutes.
- Transfer the tart to a platter, garnish with the chives and serve immediately.
Spread the crème fraîche mixture on the pastry, keeping the border clean. Lay the bacon on top, slightly overlapping the slices. Bake the tart for 14 minutes, rotating the baking sheet halfway through baking.
Serves 4 normal sized people or just me and Rich, if you know Rich, you know what I mean!

I love going to World Market in Carmel. They have unusual food & decor from around the globe and a great selection of chocolate and candy from various parts of the world. Well, I'm officially addicted to two "new" candy bars (though I think they sold both of these in the "good ol days).
The first one is called Big Hunk.
It's a big ol hunk o'nougat with nuts in it - NOT drenched in chocolate. You just get the nougat. Oh yummy. Put this little hunk of goodness in the micro for 4-5 seconds and it softens right up to a chewy bit of deliciousness! The nuts just add that bit of crunchiness that it needs. Yummo!
The second one is called a Lion bar.

It's got crispy wafers and rice, along with just the right amount of chewy carmel all wrapped in a delectable milky chocolate. *gasp*
If your mouth is watering, just let me know, I'll pick up a spare bar for you of either (or both) and try not to devour it before I deliver it to you!

Well it's that time of year again. Time to go to the licenses branch, wait, pay loads of money and get a sticker. The Carmel licenses branch has always been a breeze, I really shouldn't complain. I can almost always walk in and almost immediately get service. I'm usually in and out in 15 minutes. That's nothing compared to what it used to be right?
Well, this time, I decided (being the anti-social, uber techie that I am) I'll try the self service terminal. Why go interact with people if I don't have to? So I stroll into the licenses branch lobby, on a Sunday mind you, walk up to the machine and less than 2 minutes (and $243.00) later, I have my new registration and sticker!!! In less than 5 minutes, I renewed my plates, Rich's plates and I was on my way!
These self service terminals ROCK!
Friends, family, don't ever spend another second of your time waiting at the BMV! All you need is the driver's licenses number of the person who owns the car, the last 4 digits of their social security number, your insurance info (if it's different than what's on your current registration) and a credit card (or E-check). I whizzed through it so fast Rich stood there laughing at me (sure, he's easily entertained).

I've heard of walking ON a cloud, but never UNDER a cloud. Here's a concept umbrella that inflates into little billowy cloud-like pillows to protect you from the rain. Doesn't look like it would provide much protection - and what if there's wind too? Does it stay neatly over your head protecting that hairstyle you spent 45 minutes on that morning? I wanna know! I guess it would never flip inside out like traditional umbrellas...oh isn't that a pain in the butt when that happens? Check it out at Joons, Design and Experience.

We've all had that favorite pair of sunglasses. The ones we thought we looked SOOO cool in. Then one day, you jump in the car and hear a crunch under your butt. "OH NO! My sunglasses!!!!" We've all done it.
Well, worry no more. Designers Azumi and David have found a solution. We can still look "stylish" and not have to worry about breaking our favorite pair of shades.
Check out their STICK ON sunglasses! I've seen it all now, folks! Say goodbye to your eyebrows!
