Walk with Me
If you have learned to walk
A little more sure-footedly than I,
Be patient with my stumbling then
And know that only
as I do my best and try
That I may attain the goal
For which we both are striving.
If through experience, your soul
has gained heights which I
As yet in dim-lit vision see,
Hold out your hand and point the way,
Lest from its straightness I should stray,
And walk a mile with me.

In looking through a book I hadn't picked up in quite some time, (thank you Jean for reminding me) I found a great little poem that I had forgotten all about.
I've found a little remedy
To ease the life we live
And make each day a happier one---
It is the word 'forgive'.
So often little things come up
That leave a pain and sting,
That covered up at once would not
Amount to anything.
'Tis when we hold them up to view,
And brood and sulk and fret,
They greater grow before our eyes;
'Twere better to forget.
